A new committee is formed

Well that was an interesting couple of hours and the bombshell went down like a lead balloon and silenced the room.  If you were there you’d know what I am talking about, if you are an AoR member then you should have been there to find out ;).  Enough said!!

Personally, I found it really frustrating to see the same reliable faces at the meeting.  Considering that the AGM is the single most important meeting of the year, I had really hoped to see more people there and taking an interest in the running of the club.

That said, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone that took the time to attend the meeting and especially those who have stepped up to fill all of the committee positions.

As previously announced, I did step down and I am no longer the Chairman of the club.  Whilst people want me to continue, I will carry on with the more time consuming tasks of running the blog, Facebook and the website and I will continue to work with everyone as one of the club’s coaches.  I will also assist the new Tournaments Officer in their new role as needed.

I will not be stepping away from the blog and for that reason you’ll continue to receive updates from me from time to time – and also from the new Chairman, as well as we will be working together on blogging matters.

I would like to officially thank everyone that has helped me over the last couple of years and who have helped to make my time as AoR Chairman a successful and rewarding experience.  I am not going anywhere and I will continue to help as much as time allows and where people want my help.

With this in mind, I would now really like to see more of our clubs members taking an active interest in the running of the club.  It is vital that everyone engages with the committee to help to make the club a better place for everyone.  Please, please support the new committee and especially the new Chairman by participating in committee meetings and future AGMs.

It is your club and your say is important,
M.
