Brief descriptions of what is available to you

  • Bow Types

We have a selection of club bows for you to try. We will also help and advise on your current setup as well as give advice on any particular archery purchase you maybe thinking of.

  • Equipment Hire

We offer you the opportunity to hire equipment for a period of time. This will help you improve and negates the need to rush out and purchase your own equipment right after you have finished your beginners course.

  • Progression

Once you have completed your beginners course, Archers of Raunds will continue to assist and help with your progression and development.

  • Technique

One of the clubs primary aims is to teach beginners the basic T-Draw technique and to provide them with a solid foundation on which to build their archery skills.

  • Library

In our Members Area, we have a selection of videos as well as documentation to help with or use as a reminder/refresher to technique, bow setup, warm up drills etc.

  • Maintenance

Throughout your progression as well as being awarded the various badges, we will also hold masterclasses on the full range of kit you will use such as fletching arrows, points, string nocks to name but a few.

  • Tournaments

AoR hosts regular indoor and outdoor tournaments depending on the season. We also hold events on behalf of NCAS and Record Status tournaments.

  • Training Aids

We have various training aids available to help with alignment, posture and stance. These can be replicated so you can make your own to use when you are away from the club.

Fantastic and supportive beginners course and very pleased to have joined as a member. Thank you Neil, Cate and Jon for all your help. 2nd December 2022

The course was just excellent.  Of course it starts with range safety, but more importantly your own.  Not so much getting hit by a stray arrow, but more in how to protect your body, because archery is not easy and is in many ways counterintuitive to how you use your body.

The Coaches (Archie, Kate, Neil and Jon) at AoR are just magnificent.  They know just how much to push you and how to coach an individual.  They are kind, warm hearted with a good sense of humour.  I must pick out Archie, who is patient, mature, and extremely observant well beyond his 15 years. 24th February 2023

Ben has very much enjoyed the course and is looking forward to learning more with you. 27th October 2023

A big thank you to Archers of Raunds for making our archery session extra special. We decided we wanted to do something a little different to celebrate an 18th birthday and contacted Neil. Helpful, polite and very willing to accommodate us we turned up and were warmly welcomed. Great thought had gone into our session with safety foremost. Balloons were festooned across targets, lots of competitive games as requested (thanks Cate), fun was had by all! Thank you for a very enjoyable time, Glenda. 5th November 2023
