Another successful weekend for AoR

I was not able to attend this weekend’s scoring session at AoR earlier today as I was playing chauffeur to Lauren and Katie who were attending the EMAS junior coaching session. Whilst Heather and I worked on club work and other tasks the girls benefitted from coaching from some of the regions top coaches, a spell on Dartfish and the hugely beneficial strength and conditioning. Both girls came away very tired and the drive home was a very quiet one in the back of the car.  Now they just need to put into practice their coaches suggestions, corrections and new shooting techniques.

Meanwhile, today (Sunday) proceeded as normal at AoR.  This week news of only one new Personal Best has reached me. Christine Marshall (AoR associate member) shot a PB of 500 to take 3rd in the Ladies’ category at WOAC’s Indoor Open Portsmouth earlier today. Well done Christine on breaking the elusive 500 barrier.

Can I also thank all of the AoR Juniors and other juniors from around the county who attended the NCAS Junior County Coaching session on Saturday.  A good number of AoR Juniors attended the session including Dominic, Ruby, Harry and Louis of which this was their first outing at county level and all of whom worked very hard during the coaching session and did the club proud.

Missing this county training session, Katie and Lauren were otherwise occupied representing AoR away from home and shooting at Clophill Archers’ Junior Portsmouth Tournament.  I am pleased to report that Lauren came away with the Bronze medal (scoring a 404) and Katie kept up her great run of results this year by taking yet another well deserved Gold with an impressive 538.
