Saturday saw the juniors all having fun at the Spooky Shoot arranged by Katie Bayliss. The special targets with Halloween themed faces, pumpkins, balloons and the like were just great and everyone that I spoke to had great fun. It was also great to see Ruby (only her fourth lesson) joining in and I have to extend a huge thank you to all the juniors for allowing me to coach Ruby whilst taking part. Not one junior expressed dissatisfaction at the help being given during their mini competition. It just shows how mature and sportsman like our junior section is. I am extremely proud of all of you and you do the club a great credit.
Sunday was also a great day. Not only was the shooting line busy enough to require two detail shooting but I have also received news that Bradley Denny and Simon Wright both posted new personal best scores – a great achievement given their already high level of shooting and Bradley sets yet another club record for his Portsmouth 584.
It has also been my privilege to post three new club records to the website over the weekend. All for Worcester rounds shot on the 21st October, Lauren Phillips shot a 176 to set the bar for the Ladies Under 18 category, Bradley Denny inched up the Gents U16 score to a massive 293 and Kevin Wood set a new Gents Barebow score with an impressive 146.
