AoR 200 Club
Scheme is open to all archers
The 200 club is designed to provide all archers a chance to increase and develop their skills and to increase the distance they can shoot.
Help you increase your shooting distance
The Archers of Raunds (AoR) 200 Club is an internal progression scheme designed to help club members develop their skills and gradually increase the distances at which they can shoot confidently. It is open to all AoR archers, with scores recorded by bow type and age category.
How it works
- Archers register for the 200 Club and work through a series of increasing distances.
- The scheme covers 15m, 20m, 30m, 40m, 50m, 60m, 70m and 90m.
- At each distance, the archer shoots three dozen scoring arrows using a 122cm target face and ten-zone scoring.
- Badges are awarded for a qualifying score for each distance achieved, once the badge has been awarded, the next distance may be attempted.
- The qualifying score varies by bow type and age category, rather than applying a single standard to everyone.
- The emphasis is on controlled progression – helping an archer know when they are ready to move to the next distance, rather than simply shooting further as quickly as possible.
The name “200 Club” reflects the progression benchmark: scores of around 200 points or better (for a recurve or compound archer) indicate that an archer is ready to progress at a particular distance.
