AoR “Summer Fun” Open Day

AoR Have A Go
AoR Have A Go

Archers of Raunds are pleased to announce that on Saturday 28th June 2014 the club will be opening its doors once again and hosting two mini tournaments and a “Have-A-Go” session for anyone interested in trying archery.

To be held on the Raunds Manor School and Sports College’s main Sports Field, the field will be available from 12.30 to 4.30 pm and it will be FREE for anyone to enter for the tournaments or to have a go at archery.

Regardless of your experience, this event has something for everyone, even if you have no archery experience at all.

Events will include:

  • Open to normal recurve archers who wish to remove their sights and try their hand at barebow, there will be an informal “Traditional Archery” competition for Archery GB affiliated archers shooting longbow/barebow/or other traditional bows. The round to be shot is a National round with sighters at 1.00pm.
  • An informal competition for Archery GB affiliated Junior Archers shooting either a Junior National or Short Junior National round with sighters at 1.00pm.  If you are a junior who has never entered a tournament, this is the perfect opportunity to come along and experience how a tournament works without the pressure of a full blown tournament.  The emphasis will be on safety and fun, more than anything during this event.
  • A “Have-a-Go” from 2.00pm for anyone wishing to try their hand at archery under the guidance of qualified archery coaches and experienced Club archers.

For those of you who just want to come along an socialise without taking part, AoR will be providing refreshments (at a modest cost) through the “AoR Tuck Shop“.

Please register your interest in this event by dropping us an email stating which of the events you are interesting in taking part in.

Remember – this event is open to archers and non-archers so please share this opportunity to join AoR on the 28th June with your family, friends and workmates.
