AoR Shooting Times

Archers of Raunds members benefit from an all year round shooting calendar that is defined and published at the beginning of both the indoor and the outdoor seasons and which covers a number of different rounds that are suitable for all abilities. Furthermore, with four shooting days to choose from, the club is widely available to just about anyone.

The clubs usual shooting days and times are noted below and they are split into the Indoor Season and the Outdoor Season. The indoor season distances are shorter owing to the confines of the sports hall on the various dates.

Indoor Season - From 1st October

The indoor season runs from the beginning of October through to the end of March and features three consecutive shooting days.

Day Times Distances Session Type

Friday

19:00 - 21:00

Around 12m

Beginners courses and general bow tuning.

Saturday

14:00 - 16:00

Up to 30m

Practice session for full members, associate members and guests.

Sunday

10:00 - 13:00

Up to 30m

Full scoring round to GNAS rules for full members, associate members and guests.

To allocate plenty of time for the rounds, sighters will begin at 10.15 and the full scoring round will begin at about 10.25. Late arrivals will not be able to participate in the scoring round and they might need to setup separate bosses (subject to room and availability) whilst the scoring round archers are scoring. The session will be timed to the archers undertaking the scoring round and non round scoring archers will have to shoot at the same time.

Outdoor Season - From 1st April

The outdoor season runs from the beginning of April through to the end of September. Some Archers of Raunds members are fair weather archers who shoot on days when the weather is favourable. However, the more competitive archers will brave inclement weather to gain valuable practice and experience in all conditions.

Day Times Distances Session Type

Thursday

18:00 - 21:00

10 - 100m

Practice session for full members, associate members and guests.

Friday

It is imperative that everyone is clear of the car park and the grounds before 17:00 on the Saturday shooting day. If anyone is still on site after 17:00 the club will be charged an extra fee for closing up late and by necessity that fee will be passed on to the member/s responsible.

Sunday

10:00 - 13:00

10 - 100m

Full scoring round to Archery GB rules for full members, associate members and guests.

Please Note:

All shooting days are subject to the facilities at the school being available. School events, bank holidays and other factors can result in sessions being cancelled and the committee reserves the right to suspend one or more sessions on a more permanent basis should funds or interest in a session be insufficient.
