Once again thank you to everyone that entered the recent AoR Open Portsmouth Tournament. This was the 37th year that the tournament has been held and it is now a traditional event for the club. However, it the support of archers both within AoR and our neighbouring clubs in the region that enable the club to host this popular tournament.
This year the club hosted 58 archers across six ages groups all shooting in six bow categories. Of those people 27 took on the double and three brave soles tackled the triple round. We were pleased to have five couples shooting it out for the couples trophy and six teams from AoR (who took the gold), Howard Bowmen (Silver), WOAC (Bronze) and then Clophill AC, NAC and Shenley Archers. It was great to see so many clubs represented with qualifying teams this year.
Several people told me how much they enjoyed the day and that they had achieved personal best scores and maybe one or two club records have fallen during the day. It would be great if you could comment below if you broke your personal best at the tournament or set a new record.
