Testimonials

Being part of the club.

'We (Fred, Diane and Dean) would like to say a really big THANK YOU to you all for making us feel welcome and for the training you gave Fred. He really did enjoy shooting with you'

'I was with AOR for about 2 years, hand having never shot before I had some excellent tuition. Not just from Phil but from anyone who thought that they could help for which I am most grateful. We had quite a few good laughs and, for the last few months that I was in England, my son Quinn went through the same process of being taught the ancient art. Usually there was a vein of subtle humor running through a training session up to the point that it was a miracle that we could still hit the target. Especially at the St Johns rooms in Rushden where you could hear a whisper at 20 yds.

My theory is that for any one who wishes to take up archery there are a few basic steps to take which will steepen your learning curve. Once you realise that you are hooked get a good set (not necessarily the most expensive) equipment and stick to it. I always found that every time you changed any part of the kit you went back several steps as it is the Archer that matters rather than the equipment.

You couldn’t join a better club than AOR where great importance is placed on developing talent. Even if you only want to 'have a go' you will be welcomed, and as serious as archers are, always enjoy the craic!

Oh and a final word of wisdom, it is far easier to get arrows back from missed shots when shooting indoors than outdoors and never be down hearted if you are beaten by the 12 year old shooting on the same boss. Now that is real experience talking.

All the best

Alan'
